Yes the app does use the carwings web interface and this is why it is slower than the iphone app. I am looking into ways to change that, but it may take some time.
mikexilva - thank you for testing the app and confirming it works in for Portugal. I am really sorry for the login loop you have experienced - you are reporting that this was ver.3.9 - are you sure? I could reproduce this in ver 3.6 and thought that I fixed it by ver. 3.9 - can you please try to uninstall and reinstall from market?
The latest version is 4.1 and contains localization - some of the messages are in Portuguese, unfortunately translated with help of google, so some maybe way off. If any of you want to help out with translation - I can send you the list of messages.
Anyhow, thanks again, and let me know any questions, ideas, or problems with the app.
First of all congrats for the app. You work to Nissan or it is your own initiative?
Send the messages, if you don't mind put them here and we help to translate.

I've made a few videos showing up the problem, and the developer sent me a few test versions of the app and it seems to be resolved by now
So we can expect soon an update to correct this on Android Market
UPDATE: It's now available on Android Market the version 5.0 that corrects the problem.

Just one more notice: On the Nexus S of my wife (Android 2.3.4), I had to clear the Open Wings app data (in android App manager settings) and reenter the user/password/country, otherwise just updating the app from 4.1 to 5.0 from the market didn't work, and after first login the app had to be "force closed".. but with a clean install shouldn't be any problems

PS: Apesar de ser uma aplicação recente no Android Market, só na última actualização é que ficou disponível também para Portugal.

And the new version (5.3) of Open Wings is up on the market.
- It has much nicer interface - see screenshots on market...
- Improved translations for Dutch and Portuguese (with Mike's help).
- Various small fixes.

Ok, já está disponível no Android Market a versão 6.2 que usa o mesmo protocolo da aplicação oficial da Nissan e as coisas acontecem com muito menos delays (tipicamente na ordem dos 20segundos) e com algumas melhorias na tradução para Português

a imagem esta está um pouco grande porque fiz directamente um screenshot do meu telemóvel que tem o ecram com mais resolução (720p) que o normal
Visualmente a versão 6 não está muito diferente da 5, mas a 6 usa o novo metodo de comunicação directamente com o Japão que faz uma grande diferença no funcionamento, estes são os que estão no Android market
