"What happens if you take the looks of the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle and combine them with the same automaker's prototype New York cab? The result is the e-NV200 concept, an electric version of the NV200 "multi-purpose vehicle."

Being introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit today, the e-NV200 would have an electric range similar to the Leaf, but have a lot more carrying capacity.
"With its 'no gas, no tailpipe, no emissions' powertrain, the Nissan e-NV200 concept combines a quiet, comfortable driving experience with a large, highly versatile, functional interior space within a compact overall body length," said Hideto Murakami, corporate vice president of Nissan.
The NV200 is Nissan's entry into the cargo-van market. A passenger version was chosen as New York's next cab. The electric version would use the drive system from the Leaf, which is EPA rated as averaging around 70 miles per charge from its batteries."
