"Nissan has yet another achievement to add to its growing list. Thanks to the car company’s all-electric LEAF vehicle, Nissan was named the low-carbon car king at a recent awards ceremony.
Nissan was bestowed with the title of Low-Carbon Car/Van Manufacturer of the Year at the LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards, which were held at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in central London a few weeks ago.
This award/title is the most important award given by the IMechE.
Jim Wright, managing director at Nissan Motor, is more than proud of the accomplishments the Nissan LEAF has achieve since hitting the market: “We blazed a trail with the LEAF and our inherent belief that we were creating a vehicle that could help move us towards no-carbon driving.”
Wright also went on to say that the move to create more electric vehicles has paid off for the brand and its customers,as well as the environment.
The judges acknowledged the Nissan LEAF was a key part of the electric vehicle market."
