Quanto custa fazer um seguro ao Leaf - UK. (How much does it cost to insure a Nissan LEAF in UK?)

"Drivers in the UK have been taking delivery of the award-winning Nissan LEAF for the first time this year and car insurance uk comparison sites such as Moneysupermarket.com are offering a good insight into how much it costs to insure the Car of the Year 2011.
The LEAF has formally been launched into the UK marketplace in recent months to much fanfare and represents a step into the unknown as it is the world’s first mass-produced electric vehicle. Two key questions now seemingly surround Nissan’s family hatchback and they centre on the practicalities of charging the car and the financial implications behind getting it out on to the open road.
When it comes to the latter, information on car insurance groups at Moneysupermarket.com is never more than a click away and the process of getting a quote at the comparison website could not be more straightforward with Electric vehicles such as the Nissan Leaf.
Based on a 28-year-old male living in Leeds, with five years of no claims discount, who does an average of 10,000 miles annually and the insurance set to start the next day, prices for comprehensive coverage paid in a lump sum on a £30,990 LEAF ($50,700) with £250 voluntary excess with claims protected range from just under £800 (around $1,300) to just over £10,500 (roughly $17, 100).
Within seconds, I received an impressive 46 quotes in total from Moneysupermarket cheap car insurance and it is clear to see that the cost differs greatly depending on which company you go with and the varying levels of services that they offer. On average, it was priced at roughly £1,510 (around $2,469).
Admiral came in cheapest at £781.67 ($1,279), which included an excess of £310, windscreen cover, use of a courtesy car should the LEAF need to go into the garage, and legal cover. Breakdown cover is also available with the same company from £34.95.
Other notable names included:
Sainsbury’s Bank (£903)
Barclays (£1,349)
ASDA (£1,399)
HSBC (£1,400)
Virgin Money (£1,875)
The most expensive quote came courtesy of ESI Insurance, whose annual cover was £10,598. Included in that package is a £950 excess, a courtesy car and windscreen and legal cover. That £10,598 price tag would rise to £11,736 if paid on a monthly basis.
Nissan LEAF insurance in UK seems to be more expensive than in US but easier to get quotes with this kind of comparison sites.
If anyone out there would like to share insurance prices from their insurance company, we’d love to hear about it!"
