Nissan LEAF Was Top Priority For Ghosn After Japan Earthquake

"Nissan’s all-electric LEAF vehicle suffered some setbacks after the earthquakes hit Japan earlier this year. Last week,Nissan-Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn revealed that his top priority after the quakes was to get production of the Nissan LEAF back on track.
In an article published in The New York Times last week Friday, Ghosn told the assembled guests, at a Japan Society event in Manhattan, that the Nissan LEAF was on the top of his post-tsunami to-do list.
Ghosn said the LEAF was Nissan’s ‘anti-crisis weapon’ and had the potential to help combat the company’s exposure to high oil prices as well as contribute its own small solution to helping minimize global warming. Making sure that its global rollout was not affected by the Tsunami as much possible was extremely important to Nissan’s future plans, he explained.
The CEO admitted that electric vehicles were his personal favorite. He then went on to say that he believes hybrid vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles will play a vital role alongside all-electric vehicles in reducing gasoline consumption.
Ghosn is adamant that electric vehicles are the future of cars and transportation. The CEO does admit, however, that the battery packs needs some revamping. “The batteries are still too heavy and expensive”, he explained. “The evolution of the battery is extremely important for development in the 21st century.”"

Já estou a começar a perceber porque é que o Ghosn baixou tanto a qualidade dos Nissan CI. É para as pessoas preferirem os VE's
